  Spring Mitigation Project 2009

The PPWPP 2009 spring mitigation project was located at the Burning Tree Ranch subdivision near Franktown in eastern Douglas County.  The project consisted of the removal of ladder fuels in the equestrian easement which runs through the subdivision and is contiguous to many residential lots.  Members of PPWPP assisted the community volunteers to complete ladder fuel removal on over thirty (30) acres, and contributed over 300 work hours on the project.  The project was identified as a priority in the formally adopted and approved Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP).  This effort sparked many of the residents that live adjacent to the horse trail to remove substantial amounts of ladder fuels from their properties.   Many thanks to all that took part to make this a successful fuels reduction project.
